First of all - why would you pull 3 old posts in addition to writing your own post? If anyone was inclined to help you, after these posts at least I am very much inclined to ignore you. Please read a bit about netiquette and correct posting on forums ...

Ok, enough with the ranting ... As you probably already noticed, creating views in Batch Mode is not so straight forward, so that you would need to think if you really need batch mode for what you need to do, or if you can use something like an "interactive" batch, i.e. starting up DOORS in interactive mode, automatically launching your script and quitting the DOORS interpreter again. I wrote something about this here:

If you definitvely need batch, then I would think that you should look at the View Definition. The error message you are getting, seems to hint at the fact, that when saving the view definition, you save the window position, etc. which means in batch mode (there is no window), that when you load the view, the module window will disappear. So try creating a view defintion for the view before saving it.

ViewDef def = createPublic (myModule)
useWindows(def, false)

// save your view using the view definition
save(myModule, myView, def)

Maybe this helps, Regards, Mathias

Hello Mr.Mathias Mamsch,

I'm extremely apologizes for pulling 3 old post in addition to writing my own post. As I was newbie for this site and dxl script too Frown.

Thanks for your feedback..!!

I tried your logic its working perfect..

/*The below script is to load existing view And save the existing view with new view name

Simply can say as "creating new view from existing view "*/

load(view(BaseView))
View v = view(BaseView)
ViewDef def = get(v)
useWindows(def, false)

// saving new view using the view definition
save(view(NewView), def)

Note: even with Batch script its working perfect..without getting poup dialogue'The module will not be visible if view 'Newview' is loaded. Do you want to continue?

Thanks a lot guru ji!

I have tested, Its not getting any popup dialogue'The module will not be visible if view 'Newview' is loaded. Do you want to continue?

But one more issue raised..when trying to import results into doors i.e to NewView which is created from BaseView, whenever I update the results in NewView these updating is reflecting in "BaseView" as well everytime, this shouldn't happen according to my requirement. It must update only in the NewView. How to overcome this issue?

Ca you kindly assist on this issue. Thanks in Advance!Shy

Sorry, it is not clear, what your problem is. When you say "whenever I update the results in NewView" ... are you talking about modifying the attribute values of the module?

If so, then you are missing some basic information on how views work. If two views show the same attributes, then of course their values will be the same.
